I am Ms. Zulma E. Brooks, artists/ entreprenuer. The paintings title and back story is above the piece it belongs to, not the other way around.
The art here was actually featured in my first self produced solo show in a Soho gallery back in 2005. Friends and family came out to support me as well as customers from a local coffee shop I worked in at the time. I sold two pieces for my first time out without the help of a bourgeois art network (i.e. organizations, rep, gallery or industry magazine) I'm not famous and don't want to be.
The pieces your about to gander at were created between 1995 and 2005, I haven't had the time nor the space for new works but will consider going back to it in the near future. They were a part of the series "INTERPRETIVE FLOW", an abstract collection of designs where color and texture express my mood and the backstories offer a glimpse into my personal philosophies on life. All of the works are Acrylic and fabric on canvas, older works are various printed fabrics set onto cardboard then mounted to canvas.I hope you like what you see and if you are interested in purchasing one of my pieces or share your own thoughts and curiosities; you can click on the CONTACT INFO page at the end of the show.
